Adelaide: Melbourne Stars 103, Melbourne Renegades 104-3 - Melbourne Renegades won by seven wickets

Scorecard

Melbourne Renegades claimed local bragging rights with a comfortable win over Melbourne Stars in Adelaide.

Having chosen to bat first the Stars were dismissed for just 103 in 20 overs.

They were reduced to 41 for 4 in the ninth over with Australia captain Meg Lanning and Maia Bouchier back in the shed.

Kim Garth (32) and Erin Osborne (29) showed some resistance but this was another below-par batting effort from last season's runners-up.

Spinners Sophie Molineux (2 for 10) and Harmanpreet Kaur (3 for 22) were the standouts from a fine bowling effort.

The Renegades' all-star top-order made short work of the chase.

Jemimah Rodrigues made 45 and Carly Leeson 41 as part of a second-wicket stand worth 81.

Kaur then came in to polish off the chance with a boundary at the start of the 15th over.

The result leaves Renegades top of the table on 15 points, six ahead of fifth-place Stars who sit outside the playoff places courtesy of their negative net run-rate.
