Holly Ferling and Georgia Prestwidge have found new homes for the 2022/23 Women's Big Bash.

Ferling, formerly of Melbourne Renegades, has signed a one-year deal with Perth Scorchers.

The 26-year-old right-arm pacer has represented Australia in all three formats, chalking up 32 wickets in 34 appearances and winning the 2013 Women's World Cup. In the WBBL, she has previously represented both Melbourne sides and Brisbane Heat, taking 43 wickets in 76 outings.

"I am absolutely pumped," Ferling said. "I'm so grateful for the opportunity to head west. The Scorchers are a club I've admired from afar for quite some time with the way they carry themselves and go about the contest.

"I hope I can be another bowling option for an already dominant Scorchers attack, whether it's in the powerplay or through the middle.

"I love the pace and bounce of the WACA Ground and have some amazing memories playing there over my career. I've been fortunate to play alongside Kingy (Alana King), Moons (Mooney) and Lil (Mills) in other teams across the WBBL and WNCL, and I've heard nothing but amazing things about the team from them all."

Head coach, Shelley Nitschke, said: "Getting Holly to Perth is a big result for the club, and we believe she'll fit beautifully into our bowling attack. She also offers a lot of experience, both in the WBBL and on the international stage, and has great leadership qualities. We're excited to see what she can do in WBBL08."

Fellow quick Prestwidge has been recruited by Melbourne Renegades from Brisbane Heat to replace Ferling and provide cover for Tayla Vlaeminck and Georgia Wareham as they continue to recover from injury. In 45 appearances for the Heat, the 24-year-old took 25 wickets.

Commenting on signing a two-year contract with the Renegades, Prestwidge said: "I felt like it was the right time in my career for a change of scenery and to test my cricket in a new environment.

"I'm a competitive person and I think the type of cricket the Renegades play will really suit my game. I'll be trying to bowl at good pace, hit some sixes and I love fielding – so I'll be bringing plenty of energy out there."

General manager, James Rosengarten, added: "Georgia's been a player of interest to us for a little while now, and we're delighted to have her joining the Renegades for the next two seasons.

"We've looked to strengthen our pace bowling stocks this off-season and Georgia definitely helps in that department."

Elsewhere, Adelaide Strikers have signed pace bowler Ella Wilson and allrounder Anesu Mushangwe, who is set to become the first Zimbabwean player to feature in the WBBL.

The 26-year-old made a name for herself in South Australian Premier Cricket, turning out for Glenelg alongside Wilson, and has taken 33 wickets in 21 T20Is for Zimbabwe.
