The number of venues used for the 2023 tournament has been expanded to five following a decision by the PCB's new management committee
Quetta's Bugti Stadium has been added to the roster of venues to be used for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League.
It joins Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi for the 2023 tournament starting on February 13.
The move sees major cricket return to Quetta for the first time since 1996 when an ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was played there.
Quetta is the capital of Baluchistan, the largest province of Pakistan. However, cricket has not always thrived in this area, which has produced just one Pakistan men's player, Shoaib Khan.
A new PCB management committee, which recently took over from deposed chair Ramiz Raja, approved the decision.
"I am delighted that seven years after launching the Pakistan Super League, I am today announcing our commitment to add Bugti Stadium in Quetta as the fifth venue for our marquee event," said Najam Sethi, head of the group.

"Bugti Stadium is the home ground of Quetta Gladiators, and we still remember the incredible scenes when the Gladiators visited the city after winning the 2019 tournament.
"The passionate cricket fans of Quetta have been waiting for a long to watch high-profile cricket in their backyard, and I am pleased that we will now bring HBL PSL 8 matches to their doors.
"In this relation, I have already spoken with influential officials in the Balochistan province, who have assured me of their complete support from event delivery perspectives."
Ahead of the PSL, a festival game will take place on February 5 between Quetta Gladiators, the 2019 champions, and Peshawar Zalmi to test whether the ground is suitable. The PCB will liaise with the provincial government and local administration to ensure the stadiums come up to standard.
Peshawar, the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was also under consideration to host PSL and international matches but the PCB agreed to delay the decision to allow for facilities to be updated.
