Bournemouth man faces jail after faking MCC membership card

A 51-year-old man from Bournemouth has been told he faces jail after making a fake MCC membership card to gain access to the Lord’s pavilion.

James Lattimer was told by District Judge Angus Hamilton during a hearing at Hendon Magistrates' Court on Friday that he could be handed a custodial sentence after fraudulently getting into the members' area at the famous cricket venue, the Bournemouth Echo reported.

The court heard that Lattimer bought a membership card from eBay and replaced its photo with his own prior to purchasing the cheapest possible ticket for entry to the stadium in August 2019.

He pleaded guilty to fraud in November and on Friday was given unconditional bail.

Latimer will be sentenced at Westminster Magistrates' Court on February 12.

The current wait for MCC membership is around 30 years, and costs between £500 and £1,000.
