The 25-year-old was due to move to Grace Road on a permanent deal at the end of the season but the switch has been brought forward
Leicestershire have signed George Rhodes ahead of schedule after securing a loan deal for the rest of the campaign for the Worcestershire allrounder.
The 25-year-old has previously agreed to move to Grace Road on a permanent deal at the end of the season, having signed a three-year contract.
But the Foxes have brought that switch forward, though he could yet be recalled by Worcestershire for the latter stages of their T20 Blast campaign if they require his services.
Rhodes is therefore unavailable for Leicestershire's final Blast fixture at Lancashire on Friday but is free to play in the County Championship for the Division Two side.

They face Northamptonshire, Glamorgan and Lancashire in their three remaining first-class fixtures in September as they desperately attempt to avoid finishing bottom of the pile.
Since making his debut for the club in 2016, Rhodes has made 46 appearances for Worcestershire across all three formats.
Foxes head coach Paul Nixon said: "It is great news that we are able to have George available to us in September around his Vitality Blast commitments at Blackfinch New Road.
"I’d like to thank everyone at Worcestershire CCC for their assistance with allowing George to link up with us early."
