Washington Sundar is likely to miss Sunrisers Hyderabad's next two Indian Premier League matches through injury.

Sundar has torn the webbing in his right hand and needs around a week to recover.

The spinner sustained the problem during Sunrisers' victory over Gujarat Titans in Mumbai on Monday night.

"Washington has torn the webbing in his right hand, between his thumb and first finger," head coach Tom Moody said.

"We must monitor that over the next two-three days. Hopefully, it isn't a significant blow. I'd imagine it'd take probably a week or so to settle down."

Sundar is likely to miss the meetings with Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings.

The news is better for batsman Rahul Tripathi, however.

Tripathi retired hurt halfway through the chase against the Titans but Moody said the issue was simply cramp, and Tripathi is not expected to spend time out of the squad.
