Former Australia international Harris replaces his compatriot James Hopes, who held the role with the Capitals in 2018 and 2019 but is unable to join the franchise this year for personal reasons
Delhi Capitals have announced Ryan Harris as their new bowling coach.
Former Australia international Harris replaces his compatriot James Hopes, who held the role with the Capitals in 2018 and 2019 but is unable to join the franchise this year for personal reasons.
Harris has plenty of franchise experience, having previously coached at Brisbane Heat and Kings XI Punjab.
He was part of the Deccan Chargers squad which won the IPL in 2009.
“I am delighted to be back in the IPL,” Harris said. “This is a huge opportunity for me to contribute to the franchise's ambitions of lifting the coveted IPL trophy. The Delhi Capitals side has an impressive bowling line up, and I can’t wait to start working with them all.”
The IPL will take place in the UAE in September, October and November, with matches expected to be played behind closed doors owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
