Indian Premier League auctioneer Hugh Edmeades is in a stable condition after collapsing on stage on Saturday.

Edmeades was overseeing the sale of Sri Lanka allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga when he fell, shocking the auction room in Bangalore.

TV images briefly showed the Englishman, apparently unconscious, on the floor before the feed was cut.

The auction was suspended, with the lunch break taken early.

Edmeades, who has overseen the showpiece event since 2018, received medical treatment at the venue.

A statement from IPL organisers said he had suffered from "postural hypotension".

Edmeades was replaced by broadcaster Charu Sharma for the remainder of Saturday's proceedings.
