5,000

A half-century against Sri Lanka at Centurion saw Faf du Plessis become the 10th batsman to score 5,000 ODI runs for South Africa, doing so in his 125th knock. Only Hashim Amla (101) and AB de Villiers (124) have reached the landmark in fewer innings.

The skipper’s fifty marked a run of four consecutive scores of 50+ in ODIs (including one century) and Faf now sits in ninth position on the Proteas’ all-time ODI run-scorers list.

100

Du Plessis’ team-mate Kagiso Rabada also hit a considerable milestone at Centurion, hitting 100 ODI wickets with the dismissal of Niroshan Dickwella.

Rabada reached his century in the same number of matches (64) as the great Allan Donald.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan holds the record, claiming 100 scalps in just 44 matches.

40

Another week another Virat Kohli hundred.

Virat’s 116 in India’s eight-run win over Australia at Nagpur marked his 40th hundred in one-day internationals. Kohli has scored more ODI centuries (14) than anyone else since the beginning of 2017 and is now only nine behind Sachin Tendulkar. In the form he’s in, Kohli will hit 50 in no time.

500

That victory marked India’s 500th victory in one-day internationals.

MS Dhoni featured in his country’s 300th, 400th and that 500th win. The only player to do so.

105

Chris Gayle and sixes. Like mint and peas.

Gayle hit two sixes in his 15 off 12 in the first T20I of the series against England to move ahead of Martin Guptill as the outright leading six-hitter in T20 internationals. The West Indies opener has hit 105 sixes in his 57-match career with the New Zealander’s 103 coming from 76 T20Is.

14 from 3

When it comes to white-ball batting, England don’t hang around these days. Chasing 161 at the Daren Sammy Stadium, the tourists took 14 from the first three deliveries of the innings. Alex Hales hit Sheldon’s Cottrell’s first ball for six, the next for four, followed by four leg byes before being dropped by Carlos Brathwaite fourth ball!

150

England captain Heather Knight made her 150th international appearance this week. The skipper has represented England in six Tests, 89 ODIs and 55 T20Is.

Andrew Balbirnie struck Ireland's third-highest ODI score

145*

Andrew Balibirnie hit a sensational hundred to hand Ireland a four-wicket victory in the third ODI against Afghanistan.

The 28-year-old’s unbeaten 145 - which represented 55.77 per cent of his side's total - included nine sixes (an Ireland record) and is the country's third-highest ODI score of all time, with only Ed Joyce (160* vs Afghanistan, 2016) and Paul Stirling (177 vs Canada, 2010) topping it.

202

BJ Watling posted a Test record for New Zealand as the Blackcaps handed Bangladesh a whooping at Hamilton

The Kiwi wicketkeeper made his 202nd Test dismissal to move beyond Adam Parore in the all-time standings.
