Ben Stokes had a quiet afternoon in the Super Smash as Canterbury were beaten by Central Districts on Sunday.
The England all-rounder, who is still waiting to hear if he is to be charged over an alleged assault in Bristol in September, was expensive with the ball and found himself dismissed cheaply with the bat during his Canterbury side's eight-run victory.
Stokes, handed the new ball for the encounter at Nelson, went for more than 10 an over as he finished his four-over spell with figures of 0-42.
Central Districts racked up 213 for five from their 20 overs, with Jesse Ryder leading the way with 84 from 40 balls.

In response, Stokes came to the crease at number four with his team 22 for two but, despite getting a start, was unable to make a big impression on the game.
He hit three boundaries in his 17 from 10 balls before being caught by Ben Wheeler off the bowling of Bevan Small.
Canterbury got close to their target, thanks to half-centuries from Cole McConchie and Cam Fletcher, but they ultimately came up short.
