England have an Ashes series against Australia to plan for, with the first Test in just six weeks' time, while a 50-over World Cup follows in the autumn
Jofra Archer is to return from the Indian Premier League early in an attempt to ready the seamer for the second half of 2023 with England.
Archer underwent surgery on his right elbow in April, during a three-week absence from action for his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians.
He reportedly flew to Belgium to see a specialist before going under the knife. He has since returned to action for Mumbai, but has been playing with some pain.

With this in mind, Archer will leave the IPL with immediate effect to continue his recovery under the supervision of the ECB medical department and his county Sussex.
The ECB confirmed the decision on Tuesday morning.
Archer had previously been unhappy that news of his operation had come to light.
"Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy," he posted on social media last month.
"Who ever the reporter is shame on you, an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it's people like you that are the problem."

In a statement on Tuesday, the ECB said: "Archer has been recovering from right elbow surgery. However, pushing through the discomfort whilst recently playing, hoping it will settle, has proven challenging. Therefore, it has been agreed for him to return to the UK for a period of rest and rehabilitation to give him the best opportunity for a full recovery.
"The ECB would like to thank the Mumbai Indians for their support and cooperation during this time."
Archer played five matches for Mumbai in this year's IPL, claiming two wickets and going at an economy rate of 9.5 runs per over.
He has been replaced in the Indians' squad by his England teammate Chris Jordan.
