Tom Lammonby has been forced out of England's Under 19 World Cup campaign by a broken hand.
The allrounder, who sustained the injury in a training session in New Zealand, announced the news via social media on Thursday.
A picture, shared by his county Somerset, showed the damage sustained by Lammonby.
The youngster was disappointed not to be able to feature for his country in the tournament, which is due to begin on Saturday.
"Sadly I am having to leave New Zealand and the Under 19 @cricketworldcup before my tournament has begun," he wrote on Instagram.
"Only been here a week but it’s been good fun and such an amazing place.
"I’m sure the lads will tear up and bring home the trophy but for now I’ll be watching and supporting from back home!"
Lammonby has been replaced in the squad by Euan Woods.
England's first match takes place on Monday, while their second game - against Bangladesh - is scheduled for January 18.
The side, which is led by Harry Brook of Yorkshire, won their first warm-up game against Ireland by 125 runs.
