Anderson joins elite club with his 100th Test match wicket at Lord's

Jimmy Anderson has become only the second bowler in Test history to take 100 wickets at the same venue.

The England seamer wrote his name into the record books on the fourth day of the second Test against India at Lord's, when he dismissed Murali Vijay for a duck, caught behind by Jonny Bairstow via an inside edge.

Anderson joins Muttiah Muralitharan, the Sri Lankan spinner, in an elite club of two.

Murali, who finished his career with 800 Test wickets, achieved the feat at three grounds.

Anderson's century of dismissals began in 2003 when Zimbabwe were the visitors to the Home of Cricket. Mark Vermeulen was his first victim.

Since then he has claimed a further 99 scalps at an average below 25, assisted by the prodigious assistance afforded to swing bowlers at the famous venue.

Anderson has only gone wicketless in a Test innings at Lord's on five occasions - three times against Australia and once each against Zimbabwe and West Indies.

Only once, in the Ashes meeting of 2015, has he gone an entire match without claiming at least one wicket.

Lord's was the stage for Anderson to breach the 500-wicket barrier in Tests, a benchmark he surpassed during the visit of the Windies last September.
