England legspinner Adil Rashid has been allowed to leave their tour of the Caribbean so he can be present for the birth of his second child.
The Yorkshire bowler was not included in the 12-man squad for England's second test against the West Indies, which starts on Thursday, January 31.
It is not known whether Rashid will return in time for the third Test on February 9, but he will rejoin the squad for the five-match ODI series which is set to follow after the ongoing three-game Test series.
Rashid featured in the first Test, which England lost by 381 runs, and failed to take a wicket, with his selection ahead of Broad being queried by a number of commentators during and after the match.
Somerset's Jack Leach was picked ahead of him for the squad, with England still leaving themselves the option of picking two spinners if they feel the need to.
The other major change England was to pick Kent's Joe Denly ahead of out-of-form Keaton Jennings at the top of the order.
