The 24-year-old last featured in the opening game of the T20 Blast when he suffered a shoulder injury against Lancashire
Derbyshire allrounder Anuj Dal has joined the county’s lengthy injury list after suffering a broken finger.
The 24-year-old last featured in the opening game of the T20 Blast when his side were beaten by Lancashire. He picked up a shoulder problem in that game and had recovered sufficiently to be named in subsequent matchday squads, albeit without making the playing XI.
However, he has now suffered a different setback, adding his name to a list of absentees already featuring several first team regulars.
Wayne Madsen is still at least 10 weeks away from full fitness after a hamstring tear suffered in the same game as Dal’s shoulder blow.
Seamers Sam Conners and Dustin Melton are still at least a month from fitness, as are allrounder Alex Hughes and youngster Nick Potts.
There is some positive news for Derbyshire, though, with Ben Aitchison closing in on his return and Nils Priestley back after a shoulder strain.
Derbyshire sit second-last in the North Group in the T20 Blast and are also marooned at the bottom of their County Championship group.
