Shaun Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup after breaking his arm in the nets.
The 35-year-old batsman was struck on the forearm by Pat Cummins during a practice session at Old Trafford ahead of his team's final group game against South Africa, and will require surgery.
Peter Handscomb, who is already in the UK with Australia A, will replace Marsh in the Aussies' World Cup squad.
"This is obviously shattering news for Shaun and the squad," head coach Justin Langer said.

"Throughout this tournament, his spirit, professionalism and the way he has competed has been typically outstanding."
Glenn Maxwell also suffered an injury scare when he was hit in similar fashion by Mitchell Starc but scans have shown there was no significant harm done to the allrounder's arm.
"The scans have cleared Glenn of any serious damage and we'll continue to monitor him over the coming days. We are hopeful he will be fit to perform for us on Saturday against South Africa," Langer said.
