Fair play to Marcus Stoinis.

Bowling the final over of any one-day international is quite the poisoned chalice. Throw Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni into the mix as the two men waiting for your every delivery and it becomes an even greater burden.

Fourteen runs and two wickets later, Stoinis had completed the over and dismissed both captain and former captain.

However, it was the catch to see the back of Dhoni, who had earlier smashed Mitchell Starc for a maximum, that caught the most attention.

A slow, wide yorker was dragged back at him by the Indian wicketkeeper's dominant bottom-hand grip.

From there, it was all about instinct; Stoinis stuck out a big right paw and the ball stuck. He threw the ball up almost in shock at what had occurred, before embracing Alex Carey with a face of utter surprise.

In the grand scheme of the innings, the wicket mattered little, with India reaching a mammoth total of 352 for five - the highest World Cup total against Australia in the tournament's history.
