Asghar Afghan has been reappointed Afghanistan captain in all formats.

Afghan had skippered the country until two months prior to the start of the World Cup, when he was abruptly removed from his post.

Gulbadin Naib led Afghanistan at the tournament, with Rashid Khan named T20 captain and Rahmat Shah tasked with leading the Test team.

Khan later took charge across T20, ODI and Test cricket but on Wednesday the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced yet another change at the top.

"As per the decision by ACB top management, senior player Asghar Afghan is reappointed as team Afghanistan's captain across formats," a statement, posted on social media, read.

Afghan has played 181 times for his country across cricket's three formats, scoring in excess of 3,500 runs.
