Yorkshire see Andrew Gale's secondment to The Hundred next year as beneficial to both coach and county.
Gale will join Northern Superchargers for the five-week tournament in 2020, working under former White Rose favourite Darren Lehmann.
That means he will briefly hand over the reins at Headingley to Richard Pyrah, the Yorkshire bowling coach who will lead the first team in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
While the move has frustrated and disappointed some supporters, director of cricket Martyn Moxon insists all parties will make the most of the scenario.
He told the Yorkshire Post: “I think it’s good for both their developments.
“For Galey to work alongside Darren is going to be nothing but beneficial for his experience; he’ll pick up tips from him and his views on T20/The Hundred, which are basically the same kinds of game, and also how Darren manages the team, the practice sessions he runs, and so on.

“We see it as great experience from Galey’s point of view.
“In addition, it’s going to give Rich a bit more responsibility during the 50-over competition, helping to develop his skills as an all-round coach, so we feel that it’s a win-win situation for Yorkshire.”
Gale will assists Lehmann at Superchargers, alongside former England international Craig White and Durham bowling coach Neil Killeen.
Yorkshire have no plans to sign an overseas player for the One-Day Cup, despite the ECB changing their minds over allowing foreign stars from taking part.
The 50-over tournament had initially been earmarked as being purely developmental, but a U-turn in June saw counties permitted to field one overseas.
Moxon said: “It’s about finding out about our own players and seeing them play at a higher level.
“There’ll be some good players playing in that 50-over competition, some good teams, so it will be a good test for our players, and it’s very much something I look forward to – seeing how they cope with that.”

Firstly I am a massive fan of Martyn Moxon and have the greatest respect for his cricket opinions which are expert status But as just a cricket fan I am left amazed by Gayles choice and his apparent priorities - away from managing YCCC Another low point in the yet to start and unwanted 100. The County is always bigger than the man - and I trust long term that this will be proved again.
