AUSTRALIA

David Warner (26): Another curio of an innings - 5

Aaron Finch (153): Superb. Equalled his ODI best, and it was 14th ton in that format. Did not panic as captain - 10.

Usman Khawaja (10): Bit unlucky to be pushed up and down the order considering he is the leading ODI scorer in 2019 – 4.5

Steven Smith (73): Batted beautifully - 9

Glenn Maxwell (46 & 0-46): Brutal knock, effective spell of bowling. What an arm in the field – 8.5

Shaun Marsh (3): Hasn’t got going yet - 4

Alex Carey (4): Could/should have come in higher. Kept well - 7

Pat Cummins (0 & 2-38): Not at his best today but decent enough – 6.5

Mitchell Starc (5 & 4-55): Rocky moments at the start but clinical at the death - 8

Jason Behrendorff (1-59): Fought back well after an expensive start - 7

Kane Richardson (3-47): Another who showed character. Three for 47 off nine pleasing after first three overs went for 23 – 7.5

Glenn Maxwell ended Australia's innings with a flourish.

SRI LANKA

Dimuth Karunaratne (97): Considering his late appointment, he has batted superbly well - 9

Kusal Perera (52): Lovely to watch. Didn’t cash in on a lucky reprieve off the bowling of Maxwell though - 8

Lahiru Thirimanne (16): Not setting the World Cup alight - 5

Kusal Mendis (30): Looked good, then gave his wicket away - 6

Angelo Mathews (9): Having a nightmare tournament. Should have smashed long hop for four, but instead capitulated to a tame dismissal - 4

Milinda Siriwardana (3 & 0-17)): Two inconsequential overs. Not many runs - 4

Thisara Perera (7 & 0-67)): Hit his first ball for six then threw it away. Bowling adequate at best. 5.5

Dhananjaya de Silva (16 & 2-40)): Considering he had bowled only one over in the tournament beforehand, he did a fine job. Took some tap at the end from Finch but dictated before that - 8

Isuru Udana (8 & (2-57)): Smacked his shoulder on advertising hoarding, showing his commitment. Bowled pretty well. 7

Lasith Malinga (1 & 1-61)): Stuck at it. Wily at the death as usual - 7

Nuwan Pradeep (0 & 0-88): Finch, Smith and Maxwell gave him a chastening afternoon - 3
