AFGHANISTAN

Gulbadin Naib (47 & 2-56): Runs with the bat and another good display with the ball, too. The reluctant captain has led by example this World Cup. 7

Rahmat Shah (24 & 0-7): Only thrown the ball for an over. Made another promising start at the top of the order only to give away his wicket with a wild hack. 5

Hashmatullah Shahidi (11): Could not back up his recent efforts with the bat with a telling contribution in the chase. 4

Asghar Afghan (20): Another Afghanistani batsman to perish after seeming to get himself set on a tough pitch. 5

Mohammad Nabi (0 & 1-44): The allrounder will want to roll this pitch up and stick it in his back pocket. No more than nagging line and length proved particularly problematic for Bangladesh. Beaten second ball, apparently for pace, by Shakib. 6

Ikram Ali Khil (11): Kept very well but let himself down with a pathetic attempt to regain his ground, and ended up run out, after being elevated up the order. 5

Najibullah Zadran (23): The story of the innings as a whole. Najibullah got himself in, then strutted down the wicket, missed by a foot, and got himself out. 4

Samiullah Shinwari (49*): A rare case of an Afghan batsman finding a rhythm and combining it with staying power. Ultimately ran out of partners, with the required rate soaring. 7

Rashid Khan (2 & 0-52): It’s been a low-return World Cup for the third best bowler in the format - according to the rankings. 5

Dawlat Zadran (0 & 1-64): Not particularly impressive with ball or in the field, where he dropped the sort of catch which would have been disappointing for most village players. 4

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (0 & 3-39): Magic. The kid has wizardry in his fingertips, whether that’s the legspinner, the simple off break, the knuckleball or any other of his multitude of variations. 8

BANGLADESH

Tamim Iqbal (36): A start but nothing more from Bangladesh’s opener, who has flattered to deceive for most of this tournament. 6

Liton Das (16): Started brightly before picking out Hashmatullah at extra cover, who took a fine low catch. 4

Shakib Al Hasan (51 & 5-29): Yet another half-century from Bangladesh’s talisman. Overturned one lbw decision but was pinned by another. His bowling was even better, though. A remarkable first spell went for just 10 runs in seven overs, before he returned to complete his country's first five-for in men's World Cups and the best figures of this tournament so far. 9

Mushfiqur Rahim (83): Continues to enjoy a truly excellent tournament. The mainstay of the innings, ensuring Bangladesh put on an imposing total on a tricky pitch - and then added two stumpings, one of which was very smart indeed. 8.5

Soumya Sarkar (3): Trapped lbw by Mujeeb with a delicious delivery out of the front of the hand. 3

Mahmudullah (27): Affected by an injury he appeared to pitch up quite early in his innings, the batsman could never get into his stride. Struggled to take the quick singles or find the boundary. 5

Mosaddek Hossain (35): Really useful cameo at the end with the bat, injecting a little aggression which took his team well beyond 250. 7

Mohammad Saifuddin (2* & 1-33): Very economic, even if he was not rewarded with a wicket. 7

Mehidy Hasan (DNB & 0-37): Could only watch on as Shakib did all the damage. 6

Mashrafe Mortaza (DNB & 0-37): The least impressive of Bangladesh's seamers, and looked a little immobile in the field. 5

Mustafizur Rahman (DNB & 2-32): Toiled away for little reward until the death, when he cleaned up. 7
