The Kia Oval will host the first women's county fixture since the COVID-19 crisis wiped out the fixture list
Women's county cricket will return for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the fixture list when Surrey and Middlesex face-off at the Kia Oval on July 22.
The floodlit T20 will be the first county fixture of the year.
Though the match will be played behind closed doors, supporters will be able to stream the game via both Surrey and Middlesex's channels.
Surrey director of women’s Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent and Beth Morgan, the first-ever female honorary life vice-president of Middlesex will work closely with their respective sides during the build-up to the fixture.
On offer will be the London Cup, which since its inauguration in 2015 has been solely held by Middlesex.
While England's men have a full fixture list for what remains of the summer and domestic cricket will return from August 1, the women's game has been left in the blocks.
The ECB continue to hold discussions over England's women returning to action. Heather Knight's side were scheduled to face India and South Africa this summer until the coronavirus crisis wiped out the fixture list.
