Sana Mir, the record-breaking Pakistan allrounder, has announced her intention to take an indefinite break from cricket.

The 33-year-old will miss the upcoming limited-overs matches against England in Malaysia in December but has offered no indication over if and when she will return. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to get underway on February 21, 2020.

Mir, originally part of the 21-strong squad for the six games against England, has played 120 one-day internationals and 106 T20Is for Pakistan, the most of any women in their cricketing history.

"I have decided to take a break from international cricket and, as such, will not be available for selection for next month’s series against England," said the former captain.

"I will utilise this time to plan and reset my future objectives and targets.

"My best wishes will remain with the Pakistan national women’s team in the series against England and I am sure they’ll produce their best cricket."

Pakistan are due to face England in three ODIs - part of the ICC Women's Championship which offers qualification for the 2021 World Cup - and a trio of T20Is in Kuala Lumpur starting on December 9.
