Fellow spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington has been called up to replace the left-armer
Jess Jonassen has been ruled out of the rest of Australia's tour of India with a hamstring injury.
Cricket Australia confirmed that the experienced spinner will not return again in the series after picking up the injury in the first T20I, which was won by Australia, who are being captained by Alyssa Healy.
A statement explained: "Unfortunately Jess sustained a right hamstring strain while fielding during the match on Friday.
"She's since been assessed and it's evident that the timeframes required for a return during this series are too short.
"Jess will be unavailable for the remainder of the series and will return to Brisbane to continue her rehab."

Australia's win in the opening game came on the back of 89 off 57 balls from Beth Mooney as they chased down 173 and won by nine wickets.
Jonassen's injury has handed leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington an opportunity; she has been added to the squad and will arrive on Tuesday for the third T20I.
