The former England international has been Northern Diamonds head coach sine 2019.
Durham have confirmed that Danielle Hazell will be the head coach of their women's side when the regional competition ends at the end of the season.
She has signed a three-year deal to lead the side, and will officially take control in November.
Durham are one of eight tier-one clubs that will take to the field in the English women's game in 2025 after a new model was announced, replacing the regional competition.
Hazell has been the coach of regional side Northern Diamonds and Women's Hundred side Northern Diamonds since 2019.
The former England international coached the Diamonds to Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy success in 2022.
Hazell will continue her role with Superchargers when she starts her work wth Durham next year.
Durham's director of cricket, Marcus North, said:"It was clear from the off that Dani was the right person to lead Durham into our new chapter and begin to create history as a women's professional team.
"She knows the club inside out having played for us and worked within our women and girls' pathway in recent years.
"Dani has an excellent reputation following a successful period as Northern Diamonds and Northern Superchargers head coach, she had a winning mentality as a player and as a coach which is exciting for Durham."
"I look forward to working with her, as this exciting chapter for Durham Cricket begins."
