Central Sparks have bolstered their batting with the addition of overseas signing Courtney Webb.

The 24-year-old will be available from the beginning of May, beginning with Sparks' Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy meeting with Sunrisers on May 1.

She is the eighth Australia player to sign up for a stint on the regional circuit in 2024.

To date, Webb has spent her entire career in Australia, representing Tasmania, South Australia and Melbourne Renegades.

She has scored 1,110 runs with a strike rate just above 100 inn 76 T20 outings and a further 1,677 runs at 35.68 in 54 List A appearances, most recently finishing inside the top-10 run-scorers during the 2023/24 Women's National Cricket League. She scored 392 runs at 39.20 while striking above 85 in 12 appearances for South Australia.

"I am so stoked to be joining up with the Sparks this year. Should be good fun. To play some more cricket abroad is great," said Webb, who represented Australia A against England A last summer.

"It was great to see them start the season off with a big win [78 runs versus The Blaze] and I can't wait to see how the rest of it plays out for us.

"I've loved my role in the middle order for South Australia and the Melbourne Renegades back in Australia. I hope I can be a consistent contributor to the team this year.

"I’m a pretty competitive person so I would love to see us going deep in competitions in 2024."
