The Cricketer looks at the individual performances from England's Women's World Cup defeat against West Indies
Deandra Dottin (31; 0-22): Would have fallen to the first ball of the match without Winfield-Hill's drop, and smashed Shrubsole for six but otherwise couldn't get going and a meandering innings was ended by a farcical runout; took a sensational catch at backward point that changed the game 7
Hayley Matthews (45; 2-40): Played beautifully and looked in terrific touch, punching through the offside and, given how England fielded, unfortunate to be caught at short third man; bowled beautifully for the key scalps of Knight and Sciver 7
Kycia Knight (6): A poor outing that began by running out Dottin with a non-existent single, before ending when she slapped Ecclestone at cover 2
Stafanie Taylor (0; 1-21): Fell first ball to a cracking delivery from Ecclestone that turned and bounced, catching her glove on the way through; not at her best with the ball but claimed the key breakthrough of Dunkley 4
Shemaine Campbelle (66): Made her second ODI fifty just when it looked as though England might take control – a fine knock 8
Chedean Nation (49*): Provided excellent support for Campbelle, ending one short of a deserved half century 6

Chinelle Henry (0; 0-15): Struggled with her line but fielded well and took the key catches of Dunkley and Wyatt 4
Aaliyah Alleyne (0*; 1-31): Bowled tidily and had Jones caught at slip; delivered one of three maidens in England's innings 6
Shamilia Connell (3-38): Wayward at times in her first spell but grew into the game, claiming Winfield-Hill before returning to pick up the key wickets of Wyatt and Brunt in the same over 7
Anisa Mohammed (2-24): Inadvertently ran out Cross before ending the game by bowling Shrubsole, having earlier claimed he key wicket of Beaumont 6
Shakera Selman (0-24): Bowled nicely without success in a fine team performance 5
Lauren Winfield-Hill (12): Dropped a sitter and later was brilliantly caught by Dottin with the bat 3
Tammy Beaumont (46): Played with typical poise until missing a full ball from Mohammed just short of another fifty 6
Heather Knight (5; 0-22): Unlucky to be dismissed cheaply, if only because West Indies' fielders were themselves surprised to learn she'd edged a Matthews delivery; bowled nicely as the second spinner on a pitch that suggested England might have also picked Charlie Dean 4
Natalie Sciver (2; 1-49): Fell to an uncharacteristic miscue as the pressure built on her after a spell of tight bowling; loose with the ball 3
Amy Jones (1): Impeccable behind the stumps on a day that she was not helped by her bowlers; short on runs with the bat 3
Danni Wyatt (33): Counterattacked well with Dunkley but played a poor shot just after the fall a wicket at the other end, when England could have done with a period of consolidation 6

Sophia Dunkley (38): Played well until mistiming a pull shot off Taylor to be caught at short midwicket 6
Katherine Brunt (1; 0-38): Too short with the new ball and picked off easily; didn't bowl her full allocation and fell cheaply with the bat 5
Sophie Ecclestone (33*; 3-20): England would have been in plenty of trouble without the left-arm spinner, who claimed two wickets in the same over to wake up her team after a poor start; excellent with the bat and unfortunate to be left stranded at the end 8
Kate Cross (27; 0-36): The best of England's seamers by a distance, bowling cannily through the middle overs and only wicketless because she dropped a chance off her own bowling; terrific partnership with Ecclestone that was ended unfortunately 6
Anya Shrubsole (0; 0-57): Expensive with the ball and poor in the field, dropping two straightforward chances; will be lucky to hold onto her place for England's third game 2
