The white-ball skipper has suffered a minor right thigh-muscle injury which will keep him out of the fourth and fifth matches of the series in Barbados
England will be without captain Eoin Morgan for the remaining matches of the T20 international series against the West Indies.
The Irishman has suffered a right thigh-muscle injury described as "minor" but enough to keep him out of the fourth and fifth matches in Barbados.
Morgan was forced to miss the 20-run defeat to the Windies on Wednesday (January 26) after feeling pain in the pre-match warm-up.
Moeen Ali skippered the side in his absence and is likely to retain the role for the conclusion of the series this weekend.
The fourth and fifth T20s are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (January 29 and 30). West Indies lead 2-1.
