This marks the second time in three years that Brathwaite's action has been both reported and then cleared upon review
The bowling action of Kraigg Brathwaite, the West Indies batsman, has been found to be legal after it was reported as being suspect last month.
The Barbados-born opener and part-time off-spinner was reported by umpires Paul Reiffel and Richard Kettleborough at the conclusion of West Indies’ Test defeat against India on September 2.
He bowled just two overs, picking up the wicket of Ishant Sharma in the process in India’s first innings.
Brathwaite, who subsequently joined Glamorgan on a three-match deal for the remainder of their County Championship campaign, undertook an assessment of his action in Loughborough, before being cleared of breaching the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted in the game’s regulations.
It was not the first time that Brathwaite’s action had come under scrutiny; in 2017 he was similarly questioned after being reported at Edgbaston during West Indies’ tour of England.
There again, however, he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
