Australia and Melbourne Renegades leg-spinner Georgia Wareham has been ruled out of the rest of the WBBL due to a bone stress reaction in her shin.

It is not yet known how bad the injury is, however, further assessments are to be done in the WBBL hub. Melbourne Renegades are at the foot of the WBBL table after eight matches.

Despite being a leg-spinner, it was Wareham's batting that was capturing attention. The 21-year-old is Melbourne Renegades' top run-scorer in WBBL 06 so far, having racked up 139 runs at an average of 46.33. She also struck her maiden WBBL half-century against Sydney Sixers.

Wareham's leg-spin has been less effective. She only took three wickets and went at 7.60 runs per over in the competition.

Melbourne Renegades hope to have New Zealand quick Lea Tahuhu ready for upcoming matches. Tahuhu is yet to feature in the WBBL this year due to a side injury.
