Manchester Originals and Trent Rockets saw their Hundred campaigns end in contrasting styles at Trent Bridge, with Kate Cross' side coming out on top with a nine-wicket victory.

Rockets never got going, and it was left to Lizelle Lee and Emma Lamb to take advantage of their hosts' below-par total by putting on 96 for the first wicket in just 67 balls.

Lee ended unbeaten on 47, with Lamb making 46. Earlier Cross, Sophie Ecclestone and Alex Hartley all took two wickets apiece.

Trent Rockets had to win to stand any chance of progressing into the competition's latter stages, with Manchester Originals already out.

Ball 6: Ecclestone into the action! The England star is into the attack, following captain Kate Cross at the top of the innings. Her first batch of five costs just two runs.

Ball 16: Drop! Sammy-Jo Johnson whacks one back at Hannah Jones, who cannot hang on and instead walks away with a sore finger…

Ball 20: The first six of the day! Jones has done a fine job, but her set of 10 ends with the first six of the afternoon, Johnson swinging the left-arm spinner over long-on.

Ball 26: More spin… Ecclestone, Jones and now Alex Hartley is into the attack for Manchester Originals.

Ball 28: Six more for Sammy-Jo! The Australian, also the competition’s leading wicket-taker, is having a decent time of it. She slaps Hartley for six more.

Ball 30: Priest OUT! Just after the six, Johnson tries to take Hartley over extra cover but can only pick out Cordelia Griffith. 29-1

Ball 38: The biggest of the lot! Johnson smashes Nat Brown 75 metres over the legside.

Ball 40: And again! Same ball, same result. Terrific hitting from the Aussie.

Ball 42: Johnson OUT! The big wicket of Johnson. Four sixes, and that’s where it ends. She tries to give Hartley the same treatment but can’t clear midwicket. 48-2

Ball 49: Sciver into her work! The allrounder opens herself up to cut Jones for four; she is in the middle with Katherine Brunt.

Nat Sciver's side are out of playoff contention

Ball 51: Sciver OUT! Sciver can’t believe what she’s done. Cross brings herself back into the attack and her international teammate just chips a catch straight to mid-on. 60-3

Ball 52: What a start from Graham! Heather Graham doesn’t need any time to get into her work: she clips her first ball over midwicket for a boundary – Trent will need plenty more where that came from…

Ball 62: You don’t see that every day! Alex Hartley is no-balled by the third umpire – having originally gone upstairs to check for a stumping – because the gloves of Ellie Threlkeld, Manchester Originals’ wicketkeeper, were in front of the stumps when she initially took the delivery.

Ball 67: Well, that’s different… Brunt ends up lying on her back but she manufactures a four from nowhere against Ecclestone.

Ball 73: Brunt OUT! It’s been a frustrating knock for Brunt, but it ends now; she nails a cut shot straight at backward point, where Lizelle Lee takes a sharp catch. 85-4

Ball 86: That’s large… It had all gone a bit quiet for Trent Rockets, but Sarah Glenn joins Australian Graham in counterattacking. She swats Emma Lamb over her head for six.

Ball 93: Graham OUT! Graham’s knock comes to an end. She tries to take on Ecclestone but spoons a top edge to Jones short third man. 110-5

Ball 94: Freeborn OUT! Ecclestone has another; Abi Freeborn attempts to scoop her first ball, misses and is given out lbw before reviewing unsuccessfully. 110-6

Ball 98: Dropped for four! Mignon du Preez runs around the midwicket boundary, dives to catch Glenn but shells the chance and fumbles it for four.

Ball 100: Not again! Du Preez is under another chance on the legside boundary, but once more she cannot hold onto the chance, diving forward and allowing Glenn and Kathryn Bryce to hurry back for a third run.

Lizelle Lee led Originals to victory

Speaking at the interval, Alex Hartley reckons this score is a few below par. With the pressure off for Manchester Originals, who are already out, how will they fare in reply?

Ball 6: Five leg-byes! After a slow start, Johnson appeals optimistically for an lbw against Emma Lamb. A wayward shy at the stumps follows as the openers shuffle through for a run, flying away for four overthrows. Sciver then wastes Rockets’ review.

Ball 13: Four to Lee! Originals have taken a bit of time to get going, but the South African overseas player gets down on one knee and slog-sweeps Scotland’s Bryce over midwicket. To the next ball, Bruce overcorrects and Lee slaps a cut shot through cover-point.

Ball 20: Lamb in on the act! Brunt strays too straight and Lamb clips her behind square for her first boundary.

Ball 24: Glenn drops a sitter! Lamb slices a drive meekly straight to Glenn at cover, who allows the ball to squirm out of her grasp. They need a wicket sharpish…

Ball 31: Lamb to the slaughter! Lamb, one of the form players of the summer, greets Glenn’s leg spin with an almighty slog-sweep for a boundary and then adds a two more in the five, helping two short balls behind square.

Ball 46: Slipping away for Trent… Lamb continues her assault, swinging Sciver away over the legside. This is in danger of becoming a procession. Two balls later, Sciver sends a bouncer away for five wides.

Ball 60: Lee’s first six! Almost for Trent Rockets. But not quite. Lee swipes Johnson over the legside, but the fielder at deep midwicket can’t quite parry the shot back into play and it carries over the rope.

Ball 62: Glorious from Lamb! Twice in quick succession, Lamb comes down the pitch against Georgia Davis’ off spin and drills over extra cover. High-class cricket shots.

Ball 67: Lamb OUT! Finally, a wicket. Lamb looked as though she had found the boundary once again, but instead she is brilliantly caught on the boundary by Brunt, diving to her right. 96-1

Ball 80: A delivery to sum up the day! Lee looks to the legside once again but appears to have holed out to Nancy Harman. Instead, she drops the chance over the rope for another boundary. A day to forget for Rockets…

Ball 85: Glorious! Much like Lamb earlier, Mignon du Preez opens up the off-side and punches beautifully over the field for four more. They’re nearly there…

Ball 87: GAME OVER! That’s the end of the road for Trent Rockets. Lee ends it with a backhand smash past mid-on. A clinical performance from Originals, who are also out of the running for the playoff stage.

Trent Rockets: 122 off 100 balls (nine fours, five sixes)

Manchester Originals: 1124 off 87 balls (13 fours, two sixes)

Manchester Originals win!
