Oval Invincibles claimed a much-needed victory in the men's Hundred after beating leaders Trent Rockets at The Kia Oval.

In a reduced 65-ball innings match, Jason Roy carried his bat to score an unbeaten 56 a the hosts set 126 to win.

The Rockets rarely threatened the target as Sunil Narine collected three wickets and Tom Curran and Tabraiz Shamsi took two apiece.

Trent Rockets won the toss and unsurprisingly opted to bowl first amid the wet conditions. Sixty-five balls an innings should make this pretty explosive...

Ball 6: Bash! Jason Roy gets hold of this one and smashes it over long-off. It almost hits the Sky pod!

Ball 8: Not many people do this to Rashid Khan. Will Jacks gets down on one knee and nonchalantly whips him over deep square leg.

Ball 13: Dropped! Timm van der Gugten gets underneath a high one from Jacks but shells it with two teammates for company.

Ball 16: This is mashed into the stands by Roy. That noise off the bat was deafening. Six more.

Ball 17: Down again! Rashid Khan the guilty party now as he puts down dangerman Roy.

Ball 18: Finally the Rockets hold onto one. Jacks advances but can't get it over Dawid Malan on the boundary.

Ball 22: Sunil Narine doesn't get hold of a Matt Carter delivery into the pitch and is out caught and bowled. A very strange shot.

Ball 28: Don't bowl there. Samit gets his length all wrong and Colin Ingram hacks him into the crowd, who are now having plenty to shout about.

Ball 36: Tom Moores is as quick as a cat and he's got Sam Billings here, completing a fine stumping off Samit Patel.

Ball 47: This is the biggest hit of the lot. Jason Roy has creamed the ball tonight and he smashes Carter into the night sky.

Ball 49: And again! That's the third maximum of Carter back-to-back sets of five and it proves to be a mistake to keep him on.

Ball 65: What a way to finish! Laurie Evans doesn't have long to make an impression but he gets hold of Van der Gugten and hammers him down the ground.

The Rockets were keen to bowl first but this chase will be tough, as they pursue 126.

Ball 3: An early breakthrough for the Invincibles. Short can only find deep fine leg off Narine.

Alex Hales was hit twice by Reece Topley

Ball 4: Lovely drive from Dawid Malan through cover which is just out of the reach of the fielder at cover.

Ball 13: Nasty. Reece Topley nails Alex Hales in an uncomfortable area and he's down needing assistance.

Ball 14: Not again! A re-run of the previous ball, albeit with an inside edge from Hales, but strikes him below the belt for a second straight ball.

Ball 19: Tom Curran prevails in the battle of the England stars, getting Malan who can't get hold a pull.

Ball 25: This is right out of the screws from Alex Hales, who finally gets hold of one. Shamsi has started well but he's been punished here.

Ball 28: Big moment: Hales departs trying to work the ball through point but he misses the Narine hits.

Ball 30: Two in the set of five from Narine, who now has three wickets to his name. Moores can't get hold of this one and Laurie Evans comes in and takes the catch.

Ball 38: No one is safe out there. The umpires have been ducking and diving out of the way of criticism today and Nigel Llong has to do a bit more, narrowly avoiding being struck by a Patel shot, which goes for four.

Ball 41: Patel departs and surely that is it for the Rockets. Shamsi collects his first wicket.

Ball 47: Gregory smashes one fully 80 meters with perhaps the best strike of the night.

Hales' exit all but secured victory for the Invincibles

Ball 57: Wow! What a shot this is from Rashid Khan, who is not hanging around as the Rockets pursue an unlikely win.

Ball 63: A mix-up and the Rockets have lost their eighth wicket. Gregory turns and falls at the non-striker's end and Carter is halfway down before turning back to see the bails taken off.

Hero of the match Jason Roy said: "We had a lot to prove tonight. We've come off the back of some disappointing performances so to right some wrongs tonight was pleasing. The bowlers had it quite tough tonight with wet runups. We were impressive tonight with bat and ball."

Oval Invincibles: 125 off 65 balls (six fours, nine sixes)

Trent Rockets: 116 off 65 balls (13 fours, four sixes)

Oval Invincibles win!
