What's the match?

Southern Brave take on London Spirit in the 10th game of the 2022 men's Hundred.

When is it taking place?

The match is due to begin at 6.30pm BST on Friday, August 12.

Where is the match being played?

The Ageas Bowl in Southampton will host the match. The ground became a bit of a fortress for the Southern Brave in last year's competition, as both the men's and women's teams won all their games at home.

Who's got the form?

London Spirit have won both of their opening two games. Their last outing was a convincing performance against Manchester Originals, which they won by 52 runs. After stepping down from the England white-ball captaincy, Eoin Morgan looks to be back to his best, scoring 84 runs so far for the Spirit.

Southern Brave have won one and lost one. They got off to a good start, hammering Welsh Fire by nine wickets, but a poor performance against Birmingham Phoenix followed. James Vince looked good in the opening game, scoring an unbeaten 71 runs off 41 balls, however the whole team struggled with the bat in their second match which was ultimately the reason for their defeat.

What's the team news?

Adam Milne, the Kiwi bowler, is a big miss for Birmingham Phoenix. His ongoing Achilles problem has forced him out of the tournament, though Henry Brookes filled in superbly against Brave, with a five-wicket haul.

Brave will want to get as much out of Marcus Stoinis as possible in his final week before he leaves for international duty with Australia. Glenn Maxwell plays his penultimate match for Spirit for the same reason.

What's the key match-up?

It's hard to ignore Eoin Morgan's electric start to the tournament, posting scores of 47 off 29 and 37 off 26. The Spirit captain has been their talisman and the reason why his team have managed to post big scores. Helpful contributions from Kieron Pollard, Zak Crawley and Glenn Maxwell have established a well-rounded batting lineup that looks to be unstoppable.

Southern Brave have two excellent death bowlers in Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills. Jordan has taken three scalps so far in this tournament. Meanwhile Mills missed the first game and struggled to create chances in the second. It will be interesting to see what tactic the Brave's bowlers will take, given how impressive the Spirit's batters have been.

There is a fascinating sub-plot involving Hampshire bowlers playing in the away side at the Ageas. Mason Crane, Liam Dawson, Chris Wood and Brad Wheal all know an awful lot about short-format bowling at this venue. Expect Spirit to field Dawson and Crane to go with the Southampton stadium's dimensions.

What are the odds?

Southern Brave are the odds-on favourites for this one, with a best-price 4/5. You can get London Spirit at as long as 11/10.

What's the prediction?

Southern Brave will be looking to get back to winning ways after Wednesday'ss defeat, however they will be faced against a strong opposition in London Spirit. The batting has been so strong and because they have the momentum, it feels as though it is the Spirit's game to lose.
