The Hundred draft will be televised live on Sky Sports for the first time since 2019, tournament organisers have confirmed.

As reported by The Cricketer in January, the eight men's and women's teams will complete their squads ahead of the third edition of the competition on March 23.

The 2021 and 2022 men's drafts have taken place behind closed doors but the announcement sees the process return to live screens, coinciding with the first women's player draft.

Recent years have seen squad announcements drip-fed through social media but live selection brings the highly-divisive 100-ball competition back in line with other leading overseas competitions, such as the IPL and PSL.

Sky showed the inaugural draft in 2019 but the tournament never took place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the densely populated international calendar, the ECB have opted to move the draft back to March 23 to capture as many eyes as possible.
