Manchester Originals have completed their squad for the inaugural edition of The Hundred, with Nicholas Pooran and Kagiso Rabada the star names picked up in the 2021 draft.

West Indies big-hitter Pooran was selected first in the draft on Monday, and he will join England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler at the Originals.

The team's seam department, meanwhile, has been bolstered by the acquisition of South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, Surrey's Jamie Overton. and experiencing white-ball bowler Harry Gurney.

Pakistan allrounder Shadab Khan completes the overseas picks for Manchester.

Pooran said: "It’s an honour to be the first pick of the draft and I can’t wait to meet my new teammates. In Simon (Katich) we have a world-class coach and the additions of Kagiso, Jamie and Harry will make this team a force to be reckoned with. Jos is a great guy and I look forward to working with him and the boys to bring the trophy to Manchester."

Katich said: "We are really pleased with the players we picked up in the draft.

"Pooran, Rabada and Shadab Khan are world class overseas players alongside a balance of young, local guys and some more senior players. We know that we were the team with most slots to fill going into The Draft, and I feel like it’s paid off and we’ve put together a well-balanced squad that will do Manchester proud."

The men's Hundred is due to begin on Thursday, July 22, with Originals in action against Oval Invincibles at the Kia Oval.

The women's teams will launch the tournament a day earlier, at the same venue.
