Hampshire's T20 Blast hero Nathan Ellis has joined London Spirit for the men's Hundred as a replacement for Riley Meredith.

The 27-year-old bowled the Hawks to victory over Lancashire Lightning in the final at Edgbaston, defending 11 off the last over of a dramatic contest.

Ellis joins a Spirit squad that includes Hants teammates Liam Dawson, Chris Wood, Mason Crane, Brad Wheal and Ben McDermott.

Meredith had been signed during the player draft but will not feature for the Lord's-based franchise.

Josh Inglis was released by Spirit after the 2021 season - he top-scored with 173 runs in seven innings - but will return after all having been enlisted as Glenn Maxwell's replacement when he is on international duty.

Australia host Zimbabwe in six white-ball matches at the end of August and the start of September, which is expected to see those selected miss the climax of the competition.

Southern Brave will meanwhile welcome back Paul Stirling as a replacement for Marcus Stoinis. The Ireland opener played a major role in Brave's title triumph after coming in for Devon Conway, scoring 132 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 167.08.

Adam Zampa (Welsh Fire) and Sean Abbott (Manchester Originals) were also picked by the T20 World Cup holders but their replacements have not yet been announced.

Trent Rockets after expected to lose Rashid Khan to the Afghanistan v Ireland T20I series in the middle of August and have South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi, who took seven wickets for Oval Invincibles last summer, as part of their plans for when he is absent.

Olly Stone is missing for Birmingham Phoenix after suffering a hand injury while playing second XI cricket, with a replacement expected to be unveiled in due course.

Oval Invincibles have been hit with another bowling injury, with Saqib Mahmood's intended replacement Gus Atkinson sidelined. Worcestershire's Pat Brown, part of Phoenix's squad last term, has been called into the roster.

Just a single replacement has been confirmed for the women's competition, with Invincibles losing 19-year-old South East Stars allrounder Emma Jones to injury. Sophia Smale of Western Storm has been added to the squad.

The men's Hundred gets underway on August 3 with the women's tournament starting following the Commonwealth Games on August 11.
