Fixture: Gloucestershire v Glamorgan
Venue: County Ground, Bristol
Date: Thursday, June 24, 2021
Start time: 6.30pm
What’s the lowdown?
It's an important game in Bristol as the teams in fourth and fifth place respectively meet in the West Country. The hosts have a two-point lead over the visitors and will be keen to try and pull away from a qualification rival: while Glamorgan know that getting a win would be enough to put them firmly in the mix with the top four. They'll be looking to enact revenge on Gloucestershire who won the reverse fixture by just four runs on June 10.
The weather has impeded the hosts with two back-to-back fixtures called off without a ball bowled. They returned to winning ways last time out, hunting down a target of 147 set by Kent with five overs to spare. Just two points now separate Gloucestershire from the Spitfires, who are currently leading the South Group on 10 points.
Unsurprisingly, Glamorgan have suffered a similar fate with regard the conditions, with visits to Sussex and Somerset both abandoned without bat ever striking ball. Their most recent completed fixture was a routine defeat of Middlesex, staunchly defending their total of 151 in Cardiff. A victory for Glamorgan would mean that both sides would have three victories each.
Who’s in form?
Wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips has been leading the line for Gloucestershire in terms of batting. He's offered consistency among his side's top order - averaging 43.00, with a top score of 44. Steadiness in the side is provided through the opener Chris Dent - who has recorded a score over 2o in all five of his appearances up to this point.
Glamorgan's most productive player with the bat has been Marnus Labuschagne - the Australian has an average of 65.25 - his best performance a 93 not out against when the sides last met. He has made five appearances and three of them have produced a half-century: the Gloucestershire bowlers will be cautious to avoid a repeat of his previous score.
Dan Douthwaite has impressed with the ball in hand for Glamorgan. The bowling all-rounder has taken at least one wicket for his in all but one of his appearances so far this season, with his overs costing just 6.93. He's actually joined by Labuschagne too, who has six wickets to his name.

Prediction?
The loss of Ian Cockbain will be noticeable in the Gloucestershire top order, but a strong squad means the home side should still have enough to overcome their guests. Gloucestershire win.
