Steelbacks recruit Prasanna for T20 Blast campaign

Sri Lankan Prasanna, who previously played for the club in 2016, will be available for the Steelbacks' entire fixture list in the shortest format

Sri Lankan legspinner Seekkuge Prasanna has re-signed for Northamptonshire Steelbacks for the 2018 T20 Blast campaign.

Prasanna, who previously played for the club in 2016, will be available for the Steelbacks' entire fixture list in the shortest format, starting with the game against Leicestershire on July 4.

In his last stint at Wantage Road Prasanna played in 10 matches and took 12 wickets at an average of 24.00.

He returned best bowling figures of 3-24 and an economy rate of 7.02.

Northamptonshire’s head coach David Ripley said: “We’re delighted to have Seeku back for the 2018 season, it’s great to have a quality leg spin in your T20 team.

"He bowled great for us in 2016 and was great in the dressing room so he’ll be a great addition to our campaign.”
