Mills had been enjoying an excellent season in the competition, taking seven wickets in seven games, while conceding his runs at just 6.52 runs per over
Sussex bowler Tymal Mills is likely to miss the remainder of this year’s T20 Blast with a back injury.
After experiencing discomfort during this year’s tournament, an investigation into the issue have revealed a lumbar spinal injury, which requires a period of rest.
Crucially, however, the injury is not linked to the thoracic spinal condition that the left-armer has experienced throughout his career.
The England limited-overs fast bowler has been troubled by back problems throughout his career, ultimately restricting him to the shortest format of the game.
Mills had been enjoying an excellent season in the competition, taking seven wickets in seven games, while conceding his runs at just 6.52 runs per over.
He was part of Sussex’s formidable bowling attack, which also consists of fellow internationals Reece Topley, Rashid Khan, David Wiese and Chris Jordan, among others.
Mills had also been picked up in the player draft in the now-postponed Euro T20 Slam by Edinburgh Rocks.
