David Wiese has signed a new contract with Sussex.
The allrounder, who hit 919 runs and claimed 54 wickets in all formats last season, was due to see his current deal at Hove expire at the end of the 2019 county campaign.
However, Wiese will now enjoy a longer stay with the club, although Sussex have not confirmed the exact length of the revised contract.
"I’m delighted to have signed an extension with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Sussex and have grown as a player over the past few years," he said.

"I’m really excited about the direction the club is moving. We have a lot of young players that are coming through and doing well and hopefully I can use a bit of my experience to help these players grow to their full potential."
Head coach Jason Gillespie said: "David was fantastic in 2018 in all forms of the game and it’s very pleasing that he has agreed to a contract extension with us.
"He will continue to fulfil an important role for Sussex and we’re really looking forward to him continuing to perform strongly for us."

It is good news that David will be staying at Sussex hopefully for several seasons, as an all rounder in all competitions. As a member, I am very much in favour of giving the young players every chance but do think that an experienced batsman, possibly an opener, should be added if possible.
