Surrey have announced that nine different players have extended their contracts with the county.

Among the list of players who have extended their stay at The Oval are recent England Test batsmen Ollie Pope and Mark Stoneman.

Surrey were crowned the County Champions in 2018, and appear keen to keep the squad which won that title together.

Pope, along with fellow academy graduates Ryan Patel and Will Jacks, has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep him at Surrey until 2022.

Stoneman has extended his contract till at least the end of the 2021 season, as has fellow former Durham man Scott Borthwick, Amar Virdi and Conor McKerr.

Long-term Surrey player Arun Harinath and former captain Gareth Batty have agreed extensions which will keep them at the county for the upcoming 2019 season.

Director of Cricket Alec Stewart said: "I am very pleased to have extended the contracts of several of our current professional squad.

"It's crucial we keep our highly talented group of players together to enable us to build on last year’s Championship success and to give our members and supporters something to be very proud of."
