Sri Lankan seamer Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup after contracting chickenpox.
The fast bowler has been replaced in the squad by Kasun Rajitha, who has been training with the Sri Lanka squad for the majority of the tournament.
Pradeep has had an eventful competition, taking four wickets against Afghanistan to secure Sri Lanka’s first win.
However, his World Cup nearly ended shortly afterwards.
He was struck on the finger by Kusal Perera as he bowled at the batsman during a practice session, ruling him out of the game against Bangladesh at Bristol, which was ultimately washed out in any case.
Rajitha has played six one-day internationals for Sri Lanka, taking five wickets, and made his ODI debut against South Africa in August last year.
