India are poised to visit Sri Lanka for their postponed white-ball tour of the country in August, according to reports.

The Island say that the BCCI have shown willingness to make the trip, subject to government clearance. Sri Lanka Cricket will require permission from the Ministry of Sport in the country prior to a schedule being confirmed.

India were due to play three one-day internationals and three T20Is in Sri Lanka in June.

The majority of lockdown restrictions imposed on residents of the south Asian island during its coronavirus pandemic lockdown have now been eased.

An unnamed officials told The Island that SLC aim to fill between 30 and 40 per cent of grounds for the visit of India, while ensuring social distancing rules are maintained.

The same report says England's tour of the island will be rescheduled for next year. Two Tests against Joe Root's side were called off in March.
