World Cup winners Anya Shrubsole and Danielle Wyatt have signed for Southern Brave ahead of the inaugural edition of the women’s Hundred in 2021.

Shrubsole is one of England’s most successful bowlers with over 200 international wickets including match winning figures of 6-46 in the 2017 Women’s World Cup final at Lord’s. Wyatt holds the record for the highest T20 score by any England player with a blistering innings of 124 from only 64 balls against India in 2018.

They will join up with Stafanie Taylor, who has already been signed by Southern Brave, for the new tournament which will feature the world’s best players.

The local link continues at Southern Brave with Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, Tara Norris, Carla Rudd and Paige Scholfield all joining the squad. The group were all part of the Southern Vipers squad which won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy last summer.

Wyatt said: “I’m delighted to be playing for Southern Brave next year. Our squad is looking strong already with a mixture of quality local players and world class cricketers like Anya Shrubsole and Stafanie Taylor already confirmed.

"The Hundred is going to be great for the women's game and I can't wait to take part next summer and help inspire a new generation to watch and play the game."
