Put into bat, Westminster recovered from 1 for 1 at the end of the first over to post what proved to be an insurmountable 128 for 5
An excellent all-round performance from Aaron Duguid spearheaded Westminster School’s second win on the bounce, defeating Bloxham School by 33 runs.
Put into bat, Westminster recovered from 1 for 1 at the end of the first over to post what proved to be an insurmountable 128 for 5.
Having lost Alfie Jewel for a golden duck, bowled by by Albie Dean, Westminster found themselves 42 for 2 at the end of the Powerplay thanks to a 36-run partnership between Aiden Hincks and Jai Gupta.
Hincks and Duguid then added 52 to put Westminster in a commanding position at 89-3 in the 14th over.
With two balls left in the innings, Duguid scampered two off the penultimate, and then a single from the last ball to reach an impressive half-century (50* off 45).
Duguid was again at the fore with the ball, recording figures of 3 for 16 to cap off a fine day at the office.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Dan Shevket (32 off 29) and Tom Finlay (25 off 31) score the majority of Bloxham’s runs, but the required run rate always looked too much.
