Scorecard

A 60-run partnership between Arjun Bhardwaj and Callum Berry set Shenfield on their way to a match-winning total of 138 in their first outing of the tournament.

Berry hit an impressive 43 off 24, striking three fours and three sixes in an innings that set the tone.

Bhardwaj contributed a fine 36 off 30, falling as he looked to drive over the offside but picked out Prakrith Rao who took a superbly judged catch in the deep.

There were useful hands down the order from Josh Kirby (23) and Nathan French (10) as Shenfield posted a very respectable total.

It was one they would defend as Westminster - despite taking 15 from the first over - struggled to keep up with the required rate.

Callum Berry made the first major inroads with the ball, picking up two in two to reduce Westminster to 27 for 2. It was a fine c&b to remove Jai Gupta (10) before Aryan Bagad was trapped lbw first ball.

Arran Duguid dug in for 23 before falling to Bhardwaj who made sure he had a say with both bat and ball.

While the total always looked too far away, Aidan Hinks (39* off 36) provided some late-innings impetus, upping the tempo in a sequence that saw him hit a huge six over midwicket followed by two consecutive fours.

Ultimately too many dot balls were costly for Westminster, the result of a disciplined bowling display from Shenfield.

Berry (2 for 10 off three overs), Bhardwaj - who conceded just 10 off his four overs - and Billy Roberts (1 for 14 off four) all stood out in a bowling effort that saw Westminster finish on 96 for 6.

Ben Holland also helped himself to two wickets, including bowling Aayan Diddee with his first ball of the innings.
