Sam Martin’s 69* off 49 - the tournament’s highest score - propelled Canford to their fourth victory of the tournament, defeating St Paul’s School by 17 runs.

Victory in the final game of the week cements second place for Canford, behind winners Epsom College, and marks a very successful week for the Dorset school.

Martin’s powerful effort included six fours, and two sixes as Canford recovered from  a position of 8 for 2 at the end of the first over after Ned Bowman picked up two wicket in two balls.

A 44-run partnership between Rory Walter (27) and Amar Ali (24) kept St Paul’s in the chase but they were kept in check by a disciplined Canford attack.

Sam Reeve was the standout bowler on the day, taking 3 for 10 from his four overs.

The defeat sees Westminster finish the week with two wins and a fourth-place finish in the league table.
