What's the match?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape host Durban Super Giants in the next match of the SA20 in 2023.

When is it taking place?

The start of play is scheduled for 5.30pm local time (3.30pm GMT) on Sunday, January 22.

Where is the match being played?

The game will be staged at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

Who's got the form?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape go into this game off the back of a home defeat by Joburg Super Kings on Saturday (January 21). They have not found runs the easiest to come by, and the playing surface at St George's Park has not encouraged quick-scoring. They are third in the table going into this game, having won three and lost three. The loss to the Super Kings ended a run of three straight wins.

Durban Super Giants sit bottom, with three losses and two wins. A bonus-point victory here would take them above their hosts, though, such is the congested nature of the SA20 table.

With the bat, Durban Super Giants have two of the five leading runscorers in the competition to date, in Quinton de Kock (159 at a strike rate of 147) and Heinrich Klaasen (193 at 154), but were bowled out for 80 in their most recent outing. Sunrisers have shared their runscoring around most of their team so far this term.

With the ball, no one to have bowled 50 or more deliveries in this tournament has a better economy than the 5.63 of Sunrisers' left-arm spinner Roleof van der Merwe, who was impressive again at the death against Joburg Super Kings.

What's the key match-up?

Get de Kock and Klaasen cheaply, and there's not a lot else for Durban Super Giants to go with. Given the form of Sisanda Magala and Roelof van der Merwe in this competition, it feels as though Sunrisers go into this game well placed to combat those threats.

What's the weather forecast?

A smattering of cloud, with temperatures hitting around 23 degrees Celsius at the start of play on Sunday.

What is the team news?

Sunrisers no longer have Tom Abell in the squad, but will likely back their players who just went short against Joburg. Durban would do well to strengthen their batting after the debacle against Pretoria Capitals. But the squad is so light on batting that is easier said than done.

What are the squads?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape: Marques Ackerman, Ottniel Baartman, Brydon Carse, Mason Crane, Jordan Cox, Junaid Dawood, Sarel Erwee, James Fuller, Aya Gqamane, Marco Jansen, Jordan Hermann, Sisanda Magala, Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, Adam Rossington, Jon-Jon Smuts, Roelof van der Merwe
