The Pakistan Super League will conclude on June 24, four days later than its initial rescheduling, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed.
The competition was rejigged following its postponement in March after multiple cases of Covid-19 were reported from within the bio-secure camps, with the games now set to be played in Abu Dhabi.
Officials are now awaiting sign-off that would allow the tournament to resume on June 7. The four-day shift in the final date also means that Pakistan’s national side will depart for their white-ball tour of England on June 25 – 48 hours later than planned.
Given that Pakistan remains on the United Kingdom’s travel red list, it could mean that the visiting players would only complete their hotel quarantine three days before their first scheduled ODI against England on July 8.
They are due to quarantine in a bio-secure bubble at the Ageas Bowl, but whether they would be able to use the ground’s facilities during that period is unclear.
In on-field news, Multan Sultans have been forced into an overseas change, with Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani replacing West Indies left-armer Obed McCoy.
