Lahore: Quetta Gladiators 141-7, Lahore Qalandars, 143-2 - Lahore Qalandars won by eight wickets

Fakhar Zaman was in the runs yet again at Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators in style.

Zaman racked up another Pakistan Super League half-century to take his run tally in the competition to an absurd 416 in six innings, as Lahore reached their 142-run target with two overs and two balls to spare.

The Pakistan international batsman hit 53 in 42 balls, sharing in a second-wicket partnership worth 77 with Kamran Ghulam - who also made fifty - to ensure there would be no frayed nerves in the Qalandars' camp.

Earlier, Quetta had stuttered to 141 for 7 as the majority of their batting line-up failed to find rhythm.

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan produced a typically miserly spell of 1 for 13 from four overs through the middle of the innings to stifle the Gladiators, with only Iftikhar Ahmed (52 from 39 balls) providing impetus.

It meant Quetta had only a modest target on the board, and from the moment Zakhar appeared to still be in miraculous nick, there was little way back.

Lahore now sit second in the PSL table, having played seven matches. They are just two points behind Multan Sultans.

Quetta are fourth, and looking over their shoulders as the battle intensifies for a post-season place.
